Have you heard of this awesome program from Polk County School District!?
All year round, The Books Bridge Bus goes to various locations around Polk County, giving out free books to kids! Every child who visits the bus can get one free book, a week. Mr. Fred and Miss Lynda are truly amazing people. They are so kind to children and make every child on the bus feel special.
When my boys, were learning picture exchange, Lynda and Fred were one of the first people they would do picture exchange with outside our family and therapists. Lynda and Fred were willing to learn about it and had so much patience for them.
Lynda and Fred take the time to get to know the kids who visit the bus. When they got Elephant and Piggie books in, they were excited to show my son because they knew he liked similar books by Mo Willems. He sat down on the bus and read his new book. Then, we went home and drew pictures from the book.
When the book bus is not traveling around the community, they are stopping at the Pre-K classes, reading to the kids. The Books Bridges is an amazing program for the children of Polk County with an amazing team. We hope you will check it out! We will share the book bus schedules on the Love & Co.
